How to request money using Interac e-Transfer® on the TD app


Learn how to request money from a person or business using Interac e-Transfer®. This person or business will need:

  • An email address or valid Canadian mobile number
  • A bank account with a Canadian financial institution

Step 1: Find the Request Money option

Select Transfers from the home screen.

If you haven't logged in, you'll be prompted to do so.

Select Request Money from the Transfers menu.

Step 2: Enter request details

The 'recipient' is the person you're requesting money from

Choose an existing recipient or add a new one from the Request money from dropdown list.

Enter the amount of money you are requesting in the Amount field.

Select the account you'll use to deposit your money from the Deposit to dropdown list.

You can leave a message to the recipient in the optional Message field. For security, leave out any personal information.

Select the Next button at the bottom of the screen.


Step 3: Review and confirm

Review your details to ensure that the information and destination are correct.

To make changes, select the < (back) icon at the top left of the screen or the Back button in the bottom left corner.

Scroll down to reveal the full Request Money terms.

If you agree, select the Request Money button.

You'll receive a confirmation number for your records.

Your recipient will receive an email notification and/or text message requesting the Interac e-Transfer®.

If they accept your request, funds will be automatically deposited into the account you've chosen.
