TD Active Trader and thinkorswim (TOS) may show a different "Trade Price" (per share) for your positions because when migrating this data, we used the "book value" from our Book of Record vs from the thinkorswim platform and divided this by the quantity of shares you own. Our Book of Record follows the CRA-approved methodology of Weighted Average Price per Share. This allowed many positions that may have been showing as a "blank" or $0 "Trade Price" on thinkorswim to be corrected based on our records and therefore may impact your overall Profit/Loss showing on TD Active Trader due to the corrected/updated data.
However, going forward, TD Active Trader will continue to follow the same methodology as thinkorswim (TOS) regarding your "Trade Price". This is the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method that thinkorswim has always followed. Migrated positions previously purchased in multiple lots will be considered as one position at the updated "Trade Price" and any new positions created will be captured at their respective purchase prices.

Some deposits added to your account balance may remain unavailable for a short period. The reason is that a cheque is not same as cash – it is a promise to pay by one party to another party. If the first party doesn't have sufficient funds in their account at another financial institution, or if the cheque or instrument is fraudulent, the other financial institution can refuse to pay return the cheque unpaid to us.
